From June 3-6, 2024, Orange Romania attended the 33rd edition of the EuCNC & 6G Summit conference in Antwerp, Belgium.
EuCNC is a very important event for the telecommunications sector, bringing together industry experts and researchers from around the world. The conference explores the latest developments and innovations in communication networks, providing an excellent platform for idea exchange and collaboration. The event agenda included a series of workshops, technical presentations, and plenary sessions, emphasizing the importance of 5G technology and the evolution towards 6G. This represented an extraordinary opportunity to interact with industry leaders and delve into the latest trends in this dynamic sector.
During the conference, Orange Romania showcased the progress and activities undertaken in several European research projects, as follows:
- TrialsNet – a demonstration showcasing two video analytics applications developed by partners from the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași and already implemented in the city within the Ștefan cel Mare pedestrian boulevard (smart crowd monitoring) and in the Podu Roș intersection (smart traffic monitoring) using the infrastructure from the 5G Lab.
- 6G-PATH – presentation of the educational digitalization solutions to be developed in the project, together with the Orange Foundation, using augmented reality equipment connected to the infrastructure from the 5G Lab.
- Rigourous – a demonstration illustrating how the platform developed within the project can detect and block various types of attacks targeting the 5G Lab private cellular network.
- ADROIT-6G – a demonstration presenting a scenario for automating the process of resource allocation in a 6G network using AI/ML technologies to adapt traffic capacity and priority assigned to a group of users based on system load.
- iSEE-6G and 6G-MUSICAL – presence in a special session dedicated to integrating communication and localization technologies in future 6G networks with a detailed presentation about target applications and associated business opportunities.
